Outreach Programs

Outreach
André Leitão leads our outreach to Ville St-Laurent, through the following two programs.

Language Club
This is a vibrant conversation club where refugees and newcomers from diverse nationalities gather to enhance their English and French language proficiency. Meeting once a week for sessions of 6 to 8 weeks and led by experienced native speakers, our program provides a welcoming and supportive environment for participants to practice conversational English and French, build confidence in communication, and foster cultural exchange. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, we strive to empower individuals on their journey to integration and inclusion in our community. Join us as we learn and grow together in language and friendship! (Please note: we have a shortage of French tutors for the program, so French is not always available – if interested in French, please ask if French is available for a particular session). SportsConnexion
This dynamic initiative fosters integration and interaction among newcomers, refugees, and Canadian nationals through sports activities. Throughout the year, the SportsConnexion organizes a variety of sports activities in different locations across the city, providing opportunities for individuals to come together, build connections, and enjoy the benefits of physical activity and teamwork. Moreover, the Sports Connexion is actively working on launching a soccer Connexion and a judo Connexion project, offering free weekly sessions for children and teenagers to participate, learn new skills, and develop friendships in a supportive and inclusive environment. Join us as we unite through sports and celebrate diversity in our community! For more information, please contact Andre: outreach@stmarkstpeter.org
