FRI. SEPT. 12 – SUN.SEPT.14: YOUNGER ADULTS (20s&30s) WEEKEND
This is a Service Project & Fellowship weekend. The main activity will be a service project to help Cedar Lodge (near Magog, where many CMP children go each summer for Junior Youth Camp) with its many end-of-season tasks to clean up and update the site. This could include some painting, light landscaping, woodworking, and lots of other things. The rest of the time we will be hanging out, with a couple times of worship and prayer, and just being in the great outdoors. Arrival Friday after dinner; meals include Saturday (3 meals) and Sunday breakfast. Cost: 35$/person. Fill out this form to let us know you are coming: https://forms.gle/vqDRpKimqbrE7BNe7. Non-CMP friends welcome. Let us know if you can offer a ride or need a ride.
SUNDAY REFRESHMENTS HELP NEEDED
We are in great need of new helpers with the Sunday refreshments! This is a really important ministry for CMP, so if you benefit from the Sunday refreshments then you would be an excellent candidate to join the refreshments team! 😊 Team members serve once per month. If interested, or if you have questions, please contact Anthoula Dounavis: anthoula.dounavis@gmail.com.
FROZEN MEALS NEEDED
The CMP freezer in which we keep frozen home-made meals to provide to families in seasons of need (such as following birth of a new child, or for whatever other reasons) needs replenishing. If you contribute any meals, please write on the container the type of meal, the date the meal was made, and all its contents, so recipients with allergies can know if there are any risks for them. Please also indicate the date the meal was made.
SUMMER VIDEOS
In September, Chris will release his writing on “Christian Ethics for a 21st Century Church,” especially in our context of the hyper-individualist values that underlie so much of Western culture today. Thinking Christianly about how to live in our society requires some deeper understanding of what this hyper-individualism looks like (especially through consumer choice and sexual choice), and how we got here historically. If you have not yet watched or listened to Chris’s six-part video series explaining all this, then this summer will be a good time to catch-up! (The six videos are 15-20 minutes each.) These will set the stage for Chris’s new writings this coming Fall. Then in the new year he will turn to themes associated with human sexuality. The videos are found at: https://stmarkstpeter.org/index.php/other-media/
